RF Technologies & OSI Form Strategic Partnership
RF Technologies and Office Solutions (OSI) have formed a strategic partnership that creates a single source for senior care operations seeking to integrate resident safety and communication systems into a single solution. The partnership brings together RF Technologies leadership in RFID resident safety systems with OSI’s experience in leveraging telecommunications and network solutions and infrastructure. Together, the companies make it easy for senior care facilities to integrate the entire suite of RF Technologies’ Code Alert Wandering and Fall Management and Wireless Call systems with OSI’s Avaya and Spectralink telephones and networking. In addition, a facility’s smoke, fire and carbon monoxide alarm notifications can also be integrated into the single phone system. This unique connectivity solution allows for multiple alerts to be displayed on a single wireless telephone, improving immediacy, enhancing patient safety and increasing resident/family satisfaction. Senior care facilities will see immediate improvement in operating and cost efficiencies, and elimination of the need for staff to carry multiple communication devices. The scalable, combined system enables staff greater mobility, productivity and most importantly, more responsive resident care.
The companies recently upgraded and installed their integrated event notification solution at nearly 80 facilities owned or operated by Brookdale Senior Living. The system enabled communication standardisation among corporate offices and geographically dispersed facilities.
 "Directors, managers, supervisors and staff no longer need to have several pagers and mobile phones hanging at their waists," said Jim Frost, VP, Sales -Senior Care, RF Technologies. "One wireless phone or other communications device is all any staff member will need. With a single unit, they can receive alarms from our Code Alert system or building alarms, plus they can receive and make regular telephone calls, including 911 calls."
Robert Liethen, National Sales Manager, OSI explained that the partnership does more than allow each company to sell the other’s products. "Together, the companies design, develop and deploy safety and communications solutions that optimise existing and new IP wireless technologies for single-site and multi-site independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing operations.
